INTENT Project Workshops
The INTENT team will be offering several training workshops on telecollaboration in 2013. Registration is free but participants are expected to cover all their own travel and maintenance costs.
Getting Universities ready for Telecollaboration
Telecollaboration is online intercultural exchange between classes of foreign language students in geographically distant locations. The Erasmus Multilateral Project INTENT (Integrating Telecollaborative Networks into Foreign Language Higher Education) aims to raise greater awareness among students, educators and decision makers of telecollaboration as a tool for virtual mobility in FL education at university level and also to achieve more effective integration of telecollaboration in Higher Education Institutions.
Who the workshops are for:
- University teachers interested in organizing online exchanges for learning languages and the development of intercultural competence
- Trainers of future foreign language teachers
- Experienced telecollaborators seeking to explore new tools, tasks and ideas for their exchanges
- International student mobility officers
- University management interested in using online technologies to support internationalisation and student mobility
What you will learn:
How online exchanges can support student mobility programmes
How to organize a successful online intercultural exchange at university level
How to use the UNIcollaboration platform to find partner-classes and resources
How to create and implement effective telecollaborative task sequences
How to assess learner performance and participation in telecollaborative projects
How to deal with online intercultural conflicts and clashes
What tools work well in online intercultural exchanges

The Italian workshop will be held in collaboration with the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo at the University of Padova, Italy on 21-22 March 2013.
Workshop languages: Italian and English.
